The Exalted and Glorious One proclaims:
Those servants to whom I grant health and ease of life and who enjoy these for five whole years without once turning to Me in thankfulness are those who have rejected Me.
(Hadith 94 was collected by the sage Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shayba and comes from the transmission of the noble companion Abu Sai'd al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him. It is recorded in Ibn Arabi's Mishkat al-Anwar)
'Universal Tree and the Four Birds: Treatise on Unification'
By Jaffray Angela (Author)
Through the story of the universal tree, representing the complete human being, and the four birds, representing the four essential aspects of existence, Ibn 'Arabi explains his teaching on the nature and meaning of union with God. Providing an excellent initiation into the often complex works of Ibn 'Arabi, this brief, delightful tale is the first English translation of an important, early work, complete with Arabic text, commentary, and notes.
